"The people elect a congressman to act for them on all issues.  The core values of an elected official will dictate voting practices and certainly should be known by the voting public.  Any decisions made in the legislative process will be guided by these principles.  This is important when an issue comes down to what is legal, moral or ethical.  My main objectives are to address the issues that affect my constituents and be personally accessible and accountable to the citizens who elected me."

I am proud to say that I have known David Grimes for more than 20 years. David and Barbara have been very dear friends to me and my family. His character and integrity are traits I have admired for years. His Legislative record and experience shows his commitment to children but his life demonstrates an even greater commitment. Of all his accomplishments, David is most proud of being a father to John David and Tyler. Our children have grown up together and the light in David's eye shines brightest in the presence of his children. I support David and trust my children's future in the hands of a committed man who sincerely cares about others. David Grimes is my choice for Congress!

"I would like to share with you a personal experience I had with Representative David Grimes.  A few years ago I heard him on a local radio talk show discussing a topic related to the public schools.  Having children in the local Magnet School program, I was concerned about the topic being discussed and wanted to contact Representative Grimes for more information.  I found his e-mail address through the State Legislature web site and sent him an e-mail about my concerns regarding the topic he discussed on the radio talk show that day.  I was hoping to at least receive a response from him via mail but that same day he called and talked with me for a long time discussing this matter.  I was so impressed that he took the time to call and talk with me.  I thought he was very sincere, honest, and very concerned about conservative values.  I really appreciated him taking the time to respond to my concerns.  I wish him luck in the Congressional race - we need more sincere people to represent us in Washington."

Last year, my boyfriend and I went to a NASCAR race in Talladega. Directly behind us in the seats were two amazingly wonderful gentlemen. We got to talking (engaging, delightful and humorous) and somewhere in the conversation found out who David was as well as his brother, Ernie. We have been to quite a few races and never had such insightful and engaging conversations with any one as we did that day. Of course we discussed the race, but we also conversed about the state of Alabama and some of his views on the state of affairs; not only in the state, but the country as a whole. He and his brother are amazing representatives of your fabulous state! I came away with the feeling that I was privileged to meet a wonderful family with excellent values :)

 
(On a side note - They invited us back to the area they were parked in for some excellent hot dogs and DELICIOUS salsa! We also met the rest of "the gang" and were taken with the hospitality and kindness the entire family showed!!!)
